# Mainplane

> Open-source (MIT) agent ecosystem by Alexander Yue that replaces context compaction with context retrieval: it keeps every session's full record as a file, and when context fills up a new session starts and searches the old one for the exact lines it needs; in his ~400k-token Opus 5.5 test that took 15 s and $0.10 versus up to 38 s and $1.99 for compaction.
